McLean, VA — November 13, 2013 — Kevin T. Smith, Director of Technology Solutions and Outreach for the Applied Mission Solutions Division of Novetta Solutions, will be presenting at the Chicago-area Hadoop User Group (CHUG) on November 14th, along with Boris Lublinsky, one of his co-authors of his recent book, Professional Hadoop Solutions.
Smith’s book was written as a practical guide for Apache Hadoop developers who are building Big Data analytics solutions. The book contains in-depth Java programming examples, practical blueprints for achieving success on Big Data projects, and guidance on security, real-time processing, processing orchestration, and Cloud analytics.
At the Chicago event, Smith will present a talk on “Big Data Security with Hadoop”, and the organizers will be providing autographed copies of his book for selected participants of the event.
This is the seventh technical book Smith has published in 15 years. Some of his other popular books include “Applied SOA:Service-Oriented Architecture and Design Strategies” (Wiley, 2008), “The Semantic Web: A Guide to XML, Web Services, and The Future of Knowledge Management” (2003), and More Java Pitfalls (Wiley 2003).
