Processing and Analyzing Online Face Images: Problem Statement
Facial images obtained from online sources can be used to link and identify individuals. Profile photos and albums shared on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter, as well as photos discoverable through Google searches, present vast quantities of facial images through which associations and locations can be ascertained. However, the protection and exploitation of online face images requires specialized expertise in face recognition software, processing methods, and analytical approaches. Though online facial images can be an invaluable source of identity information, utilizing these images can be labor-intensive and technically challenging.
