Highlighting the Value of a Veteran Workforce
Most companies speak of or at least proclaim their core values – minimally they’re splashed somewhere on the corporate website. In my short time here at Novetta, I have found a community where those values are evident in the day to day operations resulting in success across business units. In particular, honoring the customer mission and exercising integrity, are witnessed every day in the way we conduct ourselves as a team and a company.
On today especially, I wanted to take a minute to share why Veterans are an incredible part of our team at Novetta and provide a closer look into how they contribute to our culture.
If your organization is evaluating whether a veteran hiring initiative is right for your organization, let us encourage you to move forward. We’ll go ahead and say “you’re welcome” now.
If you’re a veteran testing the corporate waters while determining where to invest your skill set, we want to thank you for your service to our country and we’d be thrilled to hear from you. Here’s our shout out to your character and why you’re a natural Novetta fit.
-
Veterans – you embody and reinforce our core values at Novetta.
We’re cut from the same cloth so to speak. Novetta was formed on the solid foundations of integrity, customer mission success, employee focus, and innovation. When we hire, we evaluate skill sets necessary for the job requirements, but we also measure our candidates against these core values. It is easy to see where our veterans knock this test out of the park.
-
Veterans – seize the opportunity to continue to serve this great nation across high-impact and unique mission areas.
The work we do here is not only challenging, but meaningful. The complex problems we solve daily secure our Nation’s critical data and infrastructure and keep us a step ahead with bleeding edge technology such as biometrics, digital forensics, discovery analytics, geospatial intelligence, social networks, big data, and web services. Veterans share our passion in serving and protecting our country, they’ve just traded in their camouflage for Novetta blue.
-
Our story, our reputation, speaks for itself – but you can ask our vets.
About 1 in every 4 Novetta employees is a veteran. We are humbled by their service and pleased to be able to celebrate them today. We take great pride in the character and tenacity they bring to our mission. Veterans know they have the opportunity to excel and grow technically and as leaders within Novetta.
-
We recognize our responsibility to give back and support the Veteran community.
We continue to broaden our support of veteran initiatives and our veteran workforce population continues to grow, contributing greatly to our success.
It has been our pleasure to support organizations like HeroHomes, where we worked to raise over $15K towards building homes for disabled veterans. We have recently partnered with HireServed whose primary purpose is helping veterans find their next best move after completing their services by not only coaching and mentoring them with interviewing and resumes skills, but then carefully finding them the right company. We’re honored that they have sent many talented veterans to Novetta.
Also, this coming holiday weekend, as a part of the Carlyle portfolio, we will be participating in the Veteran’s Initiative Summit. Novetta and other portfolio companies will come together with representatives from the White House, U.S. Military, and various government agencies to network & share best practices on veteran & military spouse sourcing, hiring, on boarding, and development.
At Novetta, we make veterans a priority and strive to be a company where our brave veterans can transition into civilian life after their service at a company that shares their values and provides a way to continue to be a critical contributor to important missions securing our nation. Michael O’Connor, a Vice President and veteran leader, stated it best, “With our veterans, you get people that have and live values, leadership, background and skills — and a host of other intangibles that are so critical to the building of quality mission teams — a team which we have here at Novetta. This is what our vets bring to the table and why we love them.”
So above all else on this day in particular, we would like to say “thank you” to our veterans for what you have done for our country, for choosing to continue to serve the mission through our organization, and for reminding us about all of the importance of our work.
