Novetta’s secret sauce…is PEOPLE!
Novetta’s success depends on smart, creative people coming up with innovative approaches and improvements to standard best practices. To this end, Novetta encourages employees to pursue lightbulb-ideas and invent a solution if they run up against something immovable.
Brian Uri, one of our BD Proposal Writers, came up with the idea for a Tech Primer to bridge gaps between areas of expertise and to make siloed standard operating practices more accessible to teams and divisions outside the immediate area of influence. Brian undertook this endeavor and produced 10 issues of the smart and quirky Tech Primer.
As a former software engineer who now writes corporate proposals, part of my job is to engage engineers and subject matter experts across the company to translate their specialized knowledge and experience into new contracts and opportunities for Novetta. While people in each division are focused on specific missions and products, there are common underlying technologies and practices with value across divisions. Applying these technologies consistently for different customers and sharing optimizations with other divisions speeds up innovation and lowers execution cost and risk.
The Tech Primer initiative was the first step in narrowing the gaps between division knowledge. In a series run of 10 issues, I provided a friendly, brief introduction to tools and techniques used across the company. Each one-page article aimed to go beyond what the technology is, and explain why it matters at Novetta. I used original cartoons and pop culture references to give the publication an offbeat personality and differentiate it from traditional corporate communications that busy engineers might ignore.
The complete 10-issue run of the Tech Primer is now available, offering a light-hearted look at what makes Novetta’s solutions (and its people!) special.
